Miracles Are Happening!
This morning I was typing an email to a friend, and I found myself in that zoned-out place where I wasn’t totally aware of what I was writing. I felt really at peace and centered, and when I stopped and read over what I had written, I was blown away, because it was exactly what I needed to hear. It was one of those moments where my ego stepped aside for whatever reason, and Spirit was able…

Ask: I judge my judgmental friend. What is going on here?
I have been a student of ACIM for about 5 years, being brought to it by someone who has been studying it for 30 years and who considers himself to be a great expert in it. The trouble is he is a difficult personality who sometimes becomes very judgmental of people and situations. I think someone who is so into the Course should not be like this and I point this out, in what I consider to be a calm and loving way. He, however, hates any criticism and gets very angry with…

Perfect Love
This passage from a course in miracles struck deep within my heart. Every time I read it, I take a big sigh of relief. I loved it so much when I first read it that I wrote in on my bathroom mirror so that I could see it throughout the day and really let it sink in. It is such a beautiful…

Another good book
Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure where to put this info so I'll just post it for all of you. I just finished another good book called the Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. If you have read it, let me know what you think.

Devotional pose
I rapped softly on the mottled glass of the ajar door to my imaginary professor’s office, a courtesy; really, since I could tell he was not inside. Not inside and not outside either, on a day like this, as far as I could tell. But I no longer fully trusted these observations of mine, and was willing, for once, to wait. I pushed the door open and paused, soaking in the lingering starlight of his presence unencumbered by the bare overhead fluorescent currently switched off. He deserved a…

An Ocean of Love
We live and move and have our being in an infinite ocean of Love. Not metaphorically. Not poetically. We literally exist in and as Love ItSelf.
Why do we have such a hard time seeing this? Because we have studied long and hard to see ourselves and the world as flawed and imperfect. We find witnesses to this everywhere, because it's our story,…

There Is A Light
ILLUSION RELEASED
Will you carry this sadness for me?
Will you pass this basket around?
Only heavy stones,
no roses grow,
and to my hands be bound.
Will you walk with me, this burden?
Will you shield me from its glare?
The darkness clings,
no light it brings,
unscathed by fervent prayer.
Will love not wing to find me?
Adrift and lost at…

Ask: Where is my rudder in this ocean of thoughts?
Over many years now I have experienced the light through the Course, with intervals of seeming to fall back into darkness… To remember the warmth and Great Love from God that is in me when I write about it seems to vague out when my thoughts change back to human thoughts…It is also like living through the mirror into Alice in Wonderland’s chessboard. In these multiple sets of realities I seem to be experiencing I find it very difficult if not impossible to live as a real self let…

The Key to Happiness
“You made this up. It is a picture of what you think you are; of how you see yourself… Have you not wondered what the world is really like; how it would look through happy eyes? The world you see is but a judgment on yourself. It is not there at all.” – A Course in Miracles; Chapter 20, Section III, 4:3-4, 5:1-3…

Happy!
When I look back on my life I often come to one memory in particular. It is of my seventh birthday and I made the wish that I wanted to be happy. For many years I have thought about that wish and wondered if happiness was even possible for me to experience.
It has seemed like such a fleeting thing in my life that wasn't going to be mine to obtain. Maybe it was for other people who had the personality or brain chemistry for "happy". It wasn't until recently that I realized that my…

Ask: What is a day like for you, Liz?
…Liz, I would like to know what a current day is like in the mind of an Advanced Teacher of God. Specially, I'd like to know spiritually what a whole day is like for you from waking to bedtime…some real life situations as to what you do in your mind relative to practicing ACIM with everyday practical situations. What is your waking hour like in terms of meditation or prayer? How do you deal with life situations that arise during the day like finding out your water is off due to a pipe in…

The Anti-Christ
What is an idol? Do you think you know? For idols are unrecognized as such and never seen for what they really are. That is the only power which they have. Their purpose is obscure, and they are feared and worshipped both because you do not know what they are for and why they have been made. An idol is an image of your brother which you would value more than what he is. Idols are made that he may be replaced, no matter what their form. And it is this which never is…

Seek Not Outside Yourself
Seek not outside yourself. For it will fail, and you will weep each time an idol falls. Heaven cannot be found where it is not, and there can be no peace excepting there. Each idol that you worship when God calls will never answer in His place. There is no other answer you can substitute and find the happiness His answer brings. Seek not outside yourself. For all your pain comes simply from a futile search for what you want, insisting where it must be found. What if it is not there?…

The Light of Strength
"The light of strength is constant, sure as love, forever glad to give itself away, because it cannot give but to itself. No one can ask in vain to share its sight, and none who enters its abode can leave without a miracle before his eyes, and strength and light abiding in his heart." -- A Course in Miracles; Workbook Lesson 92, 8:1-2
Constant, sure,…

Life in the Light
Sometimes I miss my old life. I was breathless, unaware and new. I was forever looking forward, hopeful. I believed in the power of romantic love…that two people can do anything if they commit to love one another forever.
I don’t live there anymore. But sometimes, I miss it.
My teens and twenties were filled up with fantasies that someone (my boyfriend) would complete me. He’d adore me, lavish me with gifts, we’d get married, have babies, I’d be thinner and life would be…

The Gift of Lilies- Easter
Look upon all the trinkets made to hang upon the body, or to cover it or for its use. See all the useless things made for its eyes to see. Think on the many offerings made for its pleasure, and remember all these were made to make seem lovely what you hate. Would you employ this hated thing to draw your brother to you, and to attract his body's eyes? Learn you but offer…
