The Holy Spirit as Bootstrap

You've heard the expression "pull yourself up by your bootstraps." Sometimes your own bootstraps are not enough. You need the Holy Spirit for that extra lift, to see things differently. The Holy Spirit is your built-in bootstrap to peace of mind. You have only to ask for help. A perception of pain is an unforgiveness. It indicates a need for a shift in perception. It is not sinful or bad to feel pain or grief; it is simply a mistaken perception that needs to be corrected. Nor is there shame if…See More

Don't Fence Me In

"The body is a fence the Son of God imagines he has built, to separate parts of his Self from other parts." The body is a fence. What a strange concept that is! Its purpose (the reason the ego made it) is to keep something out; to separate parts of my Self from other parts. The body is a tool for division and separation; that is why we made it. It is a device intended to protect us from our wholeness. My body separates and distinguishes me from all the other "selves" walking this world in other…See More

Don't Beat Yourself Up Over the Course

Remember, your mental state isn't perfect, nor is it expected to be perfect. You are in training; this is a course in mind training. When I practice guitar chords, especially new ones, at first placing my fingers in the right position takes a lot of concentration and effort. I am forced to break the rhythm of the song, slowing down so I can place my fingers just so. I don't expect to get it right every time. Getting it wrong and correcting myself is part of the training. Eventually, with…See More

The Purpose of the World

"This idea from DU is a real eye-opener and goes hand in hand with what the Manual for Teachers says about reincarnation, basically that it just doesn't matter and that what's important is accepting the Atonement for yourself right now."
