Comment by Janine Cantin on June 4, 2012 at 4:44pm Here is a single thought that, I believe, could change our life, our world:
What could you not accept, if you but knew that everything that happens, all events, past, present, and to come, are gently planned by One Whose only purpose is your good?

Comment by Corinne Zupko on June 3, 2012 at 10:07pm Oh my gosh I have SO many favorite quotes...
I've been doing a lot of writing lately about my experiences with anxiety and how ACIM has helped me, so at the moment I'll pick:
"Mental health is inner peace."
Comment by Joe Wolfe on June 3, 2012 at 8:05pm From David Hoffmeister, a dear friend, and world-renound teacher of the Course. He's answering a student's question about sex.
David: "Thank you for your direct questions about sexuality.
What you do comes from what you think, and that is why Awakening is a purification of thought. Behavior modification is therefore never the goal, for behavious but follows the guide the minds chooses to listen to and follow.
Sexual desire is not better or worse than any desire for the world, yet Awakening is a state of contentment that is desireless. This is the Peace that passeth the understanding of the world. All appetites are are ego getting mechanisms, and fantacy in the attempt to make false associations and obtain pleasure from them."
From David Hiffmeister's book, Healing In Mind.

Perhaps you have misunderstood His plan, for he would never offer pain to you.But your defences did not let you see His loving blessing shine in every step you ever took. While you made plans for death, He led you gently to eternal life. Comment by Wende Wylie on June 3, 2012 at 1:00pm From an Authentic Teacher
A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of Root Beer and he started his journey.
When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old man. He was sitting in the park just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old man looked hungry, so he offered him a Twinkie.
He gratefully accepted it and smiled at him.
His smile was so pleasant that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered him a root beer.
Again, he smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling but they never said a word.
As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave.
But before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old man, and gave him a hug. He gave him his biggest smile ever.
When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his Mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, "What did you do today that made you so happy?" He replied, "I had lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? God's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"
Meanwhile, the old man, also radiant with joy, returned to his home. His son was stunned by the look of peace on his face and he asked, "Dad, what did you do today that made you so happy?" He replied, "I ate Twinkies in the park with God." However, before his son responded, he added, "You know,
He's much younger than I expected."
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace all equally!
Comment by Wende Wylie on June 3, 2012 at 12:47pm From Song of Prayer:
You have been told to ask the Holy Spirit for the answer to any specific problem, and that you will receive a specific answer if such is your need. You have also been told that there is only one problem and one answer. In prayer this is not contradictory. There are decisions to make here, and they must be made whether they be illusions or not. You cannot be asked to accept answers which are beyond the level of need that you can recognize. Therefore, it is not the form of the question that matters, nor how it is asked. The form of the answer, if given by God, will suit your need as you see it. This is merely an echo of the reply of His Voice. The real sound is always a song of thanksgiving and of love.
You cannot, then, ask for the echo. It is the song that is the gift. Along with it come the overtones, the harmonics, the echoes, but these are secondary. In true prayer you hear only the song. All the rest is merely added. You have sought first the Kingdom of Heaven, and all else has indeed been given you.
The secret of true prayer is to forget the things you think you need. To ask for the specific is much the same as to look on sin and then forgive it. Also in the same way, in prayer you overlook your specific needs as you see them, and let them go into God's Hands. There they become your gifts to Him, for they tell Him that you would have no gods before Him; no Love but His. What could His answer be but your remembrance of Him? Can this be traded for a bit of trifling advice about a problem of an instant's duration? God answers only for eternity. But still all little answers are contained in this.
Comment by Karen Ann on June 3, 2012 at 4:57am "Love holds no grievances.
You who were created by love like itself can hold no grievances and know your Self. To hold a grievance is to forget who you are. To hold a grievance is to see yourself as a body. To hold a grievance is to let the ego rule your mind and to condemn the body to death. Perhaps you do not yet fully realize just what holding grievances does to your mind. It seems to split you off from your Source and make you unlike Him. It makes you believe that He is like what you think you have become, for no one can conceive of his Creator as unlike himself.
Shut off from your Self, which remains aware of Its likeness to Its Creator, your Self seems to sleep, while the part of your mind that weaves illusions in its sleep appears to be awake. Can all this arise from holding grievances? Oh, yes! For he who holds grievances denies he was created by love, and his Creator has become fearful to him in his dream of hate. Who can dream of hatred and not fear God?
It is as sure that those who hold grievances will redefine God in their own image, as it is certain that God created them like Himself, and defined them as part of Him. It is as sure that those who hold grievances will suffer guilt, as it is certain that those who forgive will find peace. It is as sure that those who hold grievances will forget who they are, as it is certain that those who forgive will remember." ACIM Student Workbook

God Himself is incomplete without me."
