I've been studying ACIM since about 2005. I enjoy it and find it worthwhile and fruitful to spend time with. What is your experience with ACIM so far? Continue

I heard Ken Wapnick quip that the Course is not for 17 year olds, not for 27 year olds and arguably not even for 37 year olds.I understand what he's getting at I think....while we're young we're…Continue

I have a little bit. I found maybe one or two other young adults into ACIM in my area....Some seem to have a fairly neutral reaction when I have shared it. One cried once, and then one simply said…Continue

Comment by Corinne Zupko on April 18, 2012 at 1:54pm That is beautiful Danielle! Our desire for specialness creeps in everywhere - I had a very similar experience in my former study group as well. It is so reinforcing to learn that our problems really are all the same - it's the separation. :)
Comment by Kenneth Bok on April 18, 2012 at 4:46am Love it!
Comment by Danielle Boonstra on April 17, 2012 at 4:13pm Tonight it my ACIM study group. My friend and I are 32 and the rest of the ladies are about 30 years older. At first I thought this made me really special. I thought there was something "better" about being younger. Slowly I am beginning to see my oneness with these ladies that is difficult to describe in words. All our problems are the same. The feeling behind them is the same. We help one another and it is so beautiful. It's a gift.

Comment by Corinne Zupko on March 28, 2012 at 5:56pm I just made the cut off Patri! lol :)
I totally agree with you - it is all about when you're ready. I can't imagine what my life would have been like for the past 15 years if I didn't have ACIM.
Comment by Patri on March 28, 2012 at 5:42pm Well, according to the title of the discussion I'm not really a Young Adult any longer... ;)
But I can contribute with facts:
1) Kennneth Bok from acimexplained.com seems pretty young to me
2) Friends I know (non-virtual) who are doing the Course: a 31 year old, a 25 year old, a 37 year old, what looks like a 34/6 year old, another 31 year old, ...
3) I once asked someone I regard as one of my best spiritual teachers if there was an "age" to appreciate spirituality "more" and he said yes, that was probably the way. Now, maturity comes in many different sizes and flavours.
My personal view: when (not if) someone is ready, that means they have reached spiritual maturity, whatever the age.
