How has your life changed since you began to study and practice ACIM? What was it like before you studied ACIM? What led you to it? How has your life changed since you began studying and practicing it's principles?
I studied ACIM back in the late 1990s and then set it aside. Now I'm gong through a spiritual crisis that has led me back to it. I'm wondering if we could share stories with each other.

It explains A Course in Miracles like nothing else does. You can read excerpts of it on Gary's website and see if it's for you: http://www.garyrenard.com/Preview.htm
Giddy up!

Permalink Reply by Rick Millman on July 29, 2012 at 10:02pm I am interested in hearing stories from members of the community though. Sorta like testifying...
Permalink Reply by Mike Lemieux on July 29, 2012 at 10:42pm Well, I share my insights and experiences in my book, Dude, Where's My Jesus Fish? And Gary was kind enough to write the Foreword for it. Giddy up!
Permalink Reply by Rick Millman on July 30, 2012 at 4:57am So to hear you share your story of how ACIM has changed you, I will have to pay $15.00?
Permalink Reply by Corinne Zupko on July 30, 2012 at 9:46am Hi Rick -
I started ACIM in 1997 when I broke down with debilitating anxiety and panic attacks - I haven't put the book down since. It has been the one thing that has helped me recover - and I honestly don't know where I'd be without it!
There is a group on MiracleShare also where we were sharing our stories - check out this group too!
Mike is a busy guy and I'm sure he'd write more if he could - but you can also listen to his interview with Danielle which is posted on this group if you'd like (his interview is in thediscussion).
Many blessings!
Corinne

Permalink Reply by Corinne Zupko on July 30, 2012 at 4:51pm No worries Rick. We're all practicing the process of forgiving here :) I'm always taking things to the Holy Spirit (most of my life at this point, lol!). Definitely check the links - and I'm so glad you started the discussion here too! :)
Warmly,
Corinne

Permalink Reply by Danielle Boonstra on July 30, 2012 at 4:45pm Hi Rick!
I started the Course almost 2 years ago and I am so grateful I did. It has brought me peace and helped me begin to realize that I know NOTHING. Lol
This past year has been incredibly painful and if it wasn't for ACIM, I would be a mess...an angry, resentful victim. Instead I am humbled. Sad and still little angry at times, but ultimately grateful for the lessons.
Welcome to Miracle Share. We're so happy you're here ♥

Permalink Reply by Rick Millman on July 30, 2012 at 6:40pm thanks Danielle. That's how i'm feeling right now. raw. I just lost a relationship with someone I care for very much. We were engaged to be married. This morning I recieved the following guidance during my morning meditation:
"take each moment one breath at a time. when thoughts of past regrets and future anxieties come, come back to the breath. past and future are illusion. truth can only be found in the present moment. you do not understand the meaning of any gift i have given you or taken away. each gift is a lesson to be learned, and each vacancy is a place for me to enter."
Easier said than done.
i want to be free of this pain. I've studied the Course before - many years ago. It's calling me back. I'm on Lesson 25 of the WB ad reading alittle form the Text and Teachers Manual a little every day. Just looking for like minded folks and some spiritual support.
Permalink Reply by Danielle Boonstra on July 30, 2012 at 7:07pm That guidance is beautiful and so spot-on, I think.
It helps me to remember that all pain is the same. At our root, we are grieving a separation from God...a separation that never occurred. But we think it did...and we feel compelled to relive it. We think we need to have pain...God can't catch us feeling good after what we did to Him! We think we're so guilty, so bad. We're not though. We're perfect.
But for now, there's nothing to do but go through it and to take it all to the Holy Spirit. It sucks, but at the same time it's serving to help us remember the Truth.
You are not alone, Rick.
Love Danielle
